Content Management
Joomla is a free content management system available to anyone and is supported by many hosting companies. There's a lot of documentation and support so if you ever run into any snags you can simply Google your questions and have your answers within moments.
Why go with a free content management system?
As part of the Open Source Community, there are numerous software bundles for various applications available online and my links page may open your eyes to some neat things you didn't know existed before. Better yet, it's all free. What does this mean for you? You're not spending a bundle on software and licensing which you often need to renew once a year. Web design companies will often include the price of this licensing in their overall fees (and many don't tell you this is what they do). Using Open Source means you save a ton and you're helping a growing community.
Ecommerce
Verango Media, when it comes to shopping carts with their versatility and user friendly setups, is probably one of the best out there. It takes a lot of the guess work out of ecommerce and the staff is friendly and knowledgable regarding shipping, merchant accounts, payment gateways and all of the ecommerce essentials. They also do web-design as well.
Their software is proprietary, meaning they are the ones who created it and they host it, so it's quite a bit more expensive as a monthly rate. If you have the money to invest though it's certainly not a bad way to go and I can cut out the installation fee by putting it together for you.
Print Work
Business Cards: neat, simple without clutter for an easy way to give all of your contact information to clients and people you network with.
Brochures: By taking the information you wish to present and designing it in a visually appealing manner it can give good coverage for your business or event as we all know first impressions are often the most important!
Invitations of all sorts: wedding, baptisms, birthdays, anniversaries, events and more.
Newsletters: We've all seen the cheaply printed black and white newsletters sent out by charities, church groups and other organizations. We've also seen them just as easily discarded. Learn a lesson or two from magazines that take the time and effort to set up quality work and integrate that dedication and reach the people you need!
SEO Consulation
Search Engine Optimization is a multi-million dollar industry and not an easy thing to work with. It can take months for there to be any improvement but sadly, what you pay for is what you get. The faster you want a web presence the more you're going to have to spend. I am of course a big fan of Open Source or free options and Google Analytics is a good way to go. It has a lot of features but it also requires a bit more know how when it comes to SEO.
I was very impressed with their free seminar and wanted to take the more in depth training.
Omniture, I once heard related to "the Cadillac of SEO companies". They focus on SEO and have a good track record of producing amazing results. It's going to cost you a pretty penny, but if your business model centers around being online and being seen online, it's not a bad idea to go with an SEO company.

The meat and potatoes of the online world. A fast way to connect to people in ways you couldn't before. With smart phones and a plugged in new generation, it's almost imperative to have an online presence these days in order to compete.
Don't be fooled however - this isn't a way to get rich quick. This, along with ecommerce, take time, planning and passion. Literally anyone can have a web-site these days so merely having some pages on a server somewhere isn't enough anymore. However, the web-sites I design comply with several standards to make navigation of your site simple and something people can continue to come back to browse.
